Footy...

It's the business end of the footy season, and once again I'm faced with the torment of a Dogs/Bronx showdown in the semi's. This is my least favourite game of the year, why couldn't it be the grand final. That would've been alright.
I reckon it will be difficult for either team to back up after this one. It's gunna be brutal, and played like a grand final. Melbourne (fingers crossed) will be the biggest winner in this titanic match-up.
My hearts with the Doggies, but my head says the Bronx. They're due. Having said that, it's been a long time since the Dogs lost 3 games in a season, to the same team. We'll see.
I'll take that customary bet Col. Good luck, and may the best team beat Melbourne in the G.F.
To my family in Victoria.... I hope your boys flog the living daylights out of st.george this weekend. And as for the Aussie Rules, theres always next year. I'm on the Crows.

Notting Hill Carnivale...

Imagine a suburb, 2 km squared, flat, with gridlike streets. Then jam all those streets with people, 2 million of them. And a never ending procession of the biggest mobile sound systems you've ever seen or heard, following each sound system is atleast a hundred dancers (going for it). This is Notting Hill Carnivale. And it is quite literally insane. But alot of fun.
Some of the costumes are extraordinary. Prizes are awarded to the best troupe in the parade.

Standing outside the Bonaparte, we had ourselves a nice little vantage point...

Colliflower and Isagood watch as the Hammered St. Steel Drum group goes by.

Another beautiful costume, and the back of the mobile sound machine. One day we will hire a truck/system and join in the fun. Just need a charity to represent....... shouldn't be to hard.

The London choppas display their tolerance. Check out the faces in the background. Everyones in on it.

The infamous Bonapartes, featured in the cult movie 'Till the Cows come Home'. There it is boys... in all it's glory. Nothing has changed. Everything is still exactly the same.

WANTED...

This is a very rare snap of the leaders of the Norfside Massive. Wearing their colours, displaying their signage and enjoying a lowenbrau. Peace out bruvahs.

Snaps from the hood...

Here we have a foxy-loxy, running across the rooftops. We see more of these little buggars than dogs roaming the street. It's nice in spring time, because you can see mums with a few little cubs. And since I don't have chooks...... they are deadly cute.

Heres a snap of a mansion in Enfield, it's called 'Forty Hall'. It's become a public place, with a little museum and gardens. You can hire it out for shindigs.... if you're prepared to pay the price.

These chimneys on an abandoned pub caught my eye. Later on I discovered that they are the only thing stopping this building from being demolished. There is public outcry because they are quite literally rare antiques, and so ornate, they are historical treasures. Developers (ofcourse) see no value in them.

Cheer up girls....

They'll probably kill me for posting these snaps, but I love them.
Jo popped in for a flying visit not so long ago. We met up in Waggamammas', down in Soho, a modern, trendy (dare I say it), Japanese style eatery. Whilst the food was a little westernised, it was still a good, clean, fresh alternative to the ol' greasy spoon. Better still they have a fabulous range of Nippon beers. Which, as we all know, have got to be amongst the finest on the planet.

After that we ventured to the infamous O bar. Bluey and Jose, you may (or may not) remember this place. It's a cranking bar/club on the edge of chinatown. There we stayed, and as you can see got quite merry. Cheers Jo, lovely to see ya babe. Come back soon.

R.I.P. Steve Irwin

I was totally shocked to hear of the death of one of Australias finest blokes. A champion for the cause and rites of animals and habitat. He will be sorely missed. I only hope his legacy will live on through his family and through us all as well.
And what a way to go. Fitting I guess. But no less tragic.
Rest in peace Croc Hunter.... You were a little bewdy.
